Ambient Electronica

I was kidding when I first typed the title of this post but it's actually fairly accurate. I was really dreading doing this Sonic Arts assignment last year but I actually really enjoyed it and it helped me get the hang of using Ableton live. I ended up lengthening the original file and got carried away messing around with the LFO on the bass but whatever, any thoughts on which one is better? Both of these tracks are 100% MIDI

Humboldt / Tunnel Music

Humbolt Tantrum

I will do a little explanation of the project so you will understand the context. This was a first year project for Colour Exploration. The assignment was to choose an animal that uses colour and to incorporate that trait into an art project. I choose the Humboldt squid because it's use of colour is not particularly well understood, it will use colour as part of defense, to show emotion and also while feeding and mating. I choose to show a man having a childish tantrum and shifting colour just as a humboldt would. The sound was an edited version of a free improv jam me and Leland had in a drainage tunnel which is posted below in it's entirety.

Floppy Faced Fabio

This is one of those projects that I just had fun with, This is my flipbook assignment from Film Frame by Frame. The quality sucks cause I tried 3 times to upload the high quality and got fed up after waiting a combined 6 hours of upload time for nothing. You might chuckle a little bit but you probably won't

Past-Present-Future AND BUGS

The lack of content is overwhelming, so here is a bunch of stuff! Bugs are neat!
This Longhorn/ant Tryptic was a project from my second year experimental print class... not so experimental but I like it
Linocut

South American Longhorn
Collage
Alderfly
India Ink, Pencil, Water colour, Gel medium

Weevil
Collage

Fun facts about this series of three, The Weevil's abdomen is made of a guys nose and it's forearms are his cheeks,
The Long horn is mostly made of an interior photo of a pyramid, all photo materials were from National Geographic
The Alderfly was just some material experimentation
This is some of my most current work
This is some process for one of my latest assignments, these are all scanned objects, printed on velum soon to be photo-transfers and a big collaged painting. This is due in a week so I should have an update by then...hopefully this project will live up to my expectations

Feel free to comment if you have any thoughts about my work, I know its not the greatest so criticism is appreciated

Introduction

I'm not really much for writing, basically this will be a forum for me to show some of my current and previous work. I will work on having somewhat steady posts, but thats fairly unlikely. I'm currently converting/uploading files and documenting some work, so I will start with some less current work.

This was my first time shooting with a Bolex and hand processing my film, the beginning of this film was a fabricated while the rest was a documentation of a performance
